Sri Vasavi Industries to expand its ferro alloy plant at Bishanpur

Sri Vasavi Industries to expand its ferro alloy plant at Bishanpur in Bankura district in West Bengal with an investment of Rs. 400 million. The project involves expanding Ferro Alloy Plant (Fe Mn/Si Mn 45,000 TPA to 75,000 TPA) at its existing premises. Following are the details of the existing and proposed expansion :

Fe Mn / Si Mn will be produced using smelting process in Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) 14000C.  The molten alloy and slag will be periodically tapped from the bottom of the furnace. Bag filter, dry bagging system, fume extraction system will be provided to control air emissions.  Total water requirement from WBIDC will be 126 m3/day and have applied for permission for additional water to WBIDC. No effluent will be discharged and ?zero? discharge will be adopted.  All the effluent will be treated and used for dust suppression and green belt development. Ferro Manganese slag will be used in the production of Silico Manganese.  Silico Manganese slag will be used for filling the low lying area, new road development.


DRK Metallurgical to expand its ferro alloy plant at Falta


DRK Metallurgical to expand its ferro alloy plant at Falta SEZ in 24 Paragnas in West Bengal with an investment of Rs. 2.5 million. The existing unit is manufacturing Ferro Vanadium (450 MTPA), Ferro Molybdenum (300 MTPA), Ferro Tungsten (96 MTPA), Ferro Nickel (70 MTPA) and Cobalt oxide (19.20 MTPA). Ferro Titanium (360 TPA), Ferro Manganese (LC & MC, 360 TPA), LC Ferro Chrome (360 TPA), Ferro Nickel (480 TPA), Molybdenum Oxide (240 TPA) and any one or two products will be manufactured at a time during proposed expansion. Proposed products will be manufactured by a pyrometallurgical process. Raw materials will be charged into sand pits lined with refractory materials.  Aluminous thermic reaction will be highly exothermic and temperature will shoot upto 2500oC in the molten condition.  Reaction time will be hardly 2 minutes. Slag and metals will be separated after cooling and solidification. 


Pawanjay Sponge Iron to expand its plant at Bija Bahal in Sundergarh


Pawanjay Sponge Iron to expand its plant at Bija Bahal in Sundergarh district in Orissa with an investment of Rs. 28 million.  The project involves expanding existing Sponge Iron Plant (48,000 TPA) & M.S. Ingots (21,600 TPA) by addition of M.S. Ingots (14,400 TPA). Sponge iron, Pig iron, M.S. Scrap and Ferro Alloys will be used as raw material for M.S. Ingot plant of the expansion. Manufacturing process of Mild Steel Ingots will involve melting of raw material in induction furnace and casting of molten metal into moulds followed by cooling and testing for quality control to get finished product.

 


Kamini Ferrous to expand its steel plant at Dhulagarh


 

Kamini Ferrous  to expand its steel plant at Dhulagarh in Sankrail in Howrah district of West Bengal.  The project involves expanding Steel Plant by installing Ferro Alloy Plant [(2x3 MVA, Ferro-Manganese (6,000 TPA) or Silico Manganese (4,200 TPA)]. Proposed expansion will be carried out on already acquired 2 acres land located adjacent to the existing unit. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 40 million. It may be noted, Shiibpur Botanical Garden (10.3 km) and Santragachi Bird Sanctuary (9.4 km) are located within 10 km radius of the proposed project.

Singhal Steel to set up integrated steel plant at Patrapalli in Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh.  The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 7000 million. The expansion details of the new unit are as follows.

Pig iron will be produced in Mini Blast Furnace (MBF).  Sponge Iron will be produced in DRI kiln.  Later on, this sponge/pig iron will be melted in EAF/IF alongwith the scrap to produce M.S. Billets/Ingots which will be fed to rolling mill to produce TMT bars/structural steels. The waste flue gases from the kiln through WHRB and char/ dolochar generated from the sponge iron plant will be used in AFBC boiler will be used to generate power.  Pellets will be produced by using rotary grate kilns.
