Sri Girija Power is planning to set up a Ferro alloy Plant at Peddapuram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves setting up of 5x9 MVA & 1x5.4 Electric Arc Furnace; Fe-Mn 36,000 TPA & Si-Mn 72,000 TPA along with 2x36 MW coal based Captive Power Plant. The project is estimated to cost Rs.6,300 million. As of February 2010, the project has obtained statutory clearances.
SSC Steels Pvt Ltd is planning to set up a mini steel plant in Hanumanhalli village in Sandur Taluk in Bellary district of Karnataka with an investment of Rs. 4334 million. The project involves setting up of a rolling mill of 60,000 tpa, beneficiation plant of 400 tph, sponge iron plant of 400 tpd, captive power plant of 12 MW (8 MW WHRB, 4 MW FBC) and a thermal power plant using coal of 70 MW. Coal will be sourced from Singareni Collieries and imported coal from South Africa. Limestone will be sourced from Dhone, Piduguralla.
Sundaram Alloys Ltd to set up ferro alloy plant in APSEZ in Achuthapuram in Visakhapatinam district of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 982 million. The project involves setting up of 5 x 9 MVA submerged arc furnace to produce ferro manganese, silico manganese and ferro silicon and a sinter plant with a capacity of 90,000 tpa.
