Damodar Ispat to expand its steel plant in Jamuria

Damodar Ispat is planning to expand its steel plant from 50 tpd to 300 tpd at Jamuria in Burdwan district of West Bengal. The project involves setting up of 3x100 tpd of DRI plant, 1 x 30 T Ladle Furnace, 310 tpd rolling mill to produce rods/bars and light structure. The project also involves setting up of a captive power plant of 16 MW (7 MW of WHRB and 9 MW of FBC). Iron ore will be sourced from Joda/Barbil. The company will purchase coal through Savitri Coal Iron Limited which has coal linkage with MCL and through e-auction from ECL and MCL. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 3100 million.
