Rohit Ferro Tech is to expand its steel plant at Kanchrigaon and Chandia village in Sukinda Tehsil in Jajpur district of Orissa with an investment of Rs.. 4164 million. The project involves setting up of submerged arc furnace of 1x33 MVA to produce 1,00,000 tpa of ferro alloys. The project also involves setting up of a 67.5 MW captive power plant.
Samal Metaliks to set up ferro alloy plant in Khadgaprasad in Dhenkanal district of Orissa with an investment of Rs. 490 million. The project involves setting up of 2 x 9 MVA, chrome concentrates unit (25 TPH) and a briquetting plant and metal recovery plant (25tPH).
Saumyaa Alloys is expanding its Ferro Alloy Plant (7,200 TPA to 13,200 TPA) by installing a submerged arc furnace (1x4 MVA, 30,000 TPA) at Sarua Industrial Estate in Sarua in Khurda district of Orissa. The project is estimated to cost Rs.60 million. The raw material will be sourced from Barbil and Joda area of Orissa, open market, Dhanbad, Bellary and Mandla and from open market respectively. Ferro alloys will be produced by submerged electric arc furnace technology. As of January 2011, the project has obtained statutory clearances.

Scan Steels Ltd to expand its steel unit in Budhakota in Sundergarh district of Orissa with an investment of Rs. 7657 million. The project involves expanding its integrated steel plant from 0.067 mtpa to 0.378 mtpa by adding a 2x500 tpd DRI unit, a 350 tpd blast furnace, 50 tph iron ore crusher unit, 30 MW captive power unit (20 MW WHRB, 10 MW AFBC), steel melt shop wih 2x30 T induction furnace and a continuous casting mill, a pelletization plant (4000 tpd), galvanizing plant (20 tph) etc.,
