Chaitanya Industries plans new production facility in Golagaon

Project Location : Golagaon, Jajpur district, Orissa

Chaitanya Industries is planning to expand its production facility. The project involves setting up of an induction furnace (1x7 T, 21,000 TPA to 1x8 T, 24,000 TPA) and installation of Ferro Chrome Unit (1x55 MVA SAF, 75,000 TPA) at Golagaon in Panakapala Sasan in Jajpur district of Orissa

Zoom Vallabh Steel plans new unit in Dugdha

Project Location : Gamharia, Saraikela, Orissa

Zoom Vallabh Steel is planning to expand the steel plant (Billets, 0.10 MTPA to 0.225 MTPA) at Dugdha in Gamharia Industrial Area in Saraikela Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. The project involves to increasing the capacity of DRI plant 1,05,000 TPA to 2,55,000 TPA, Waste Heat 8 MW to 20 MW, Fluidized bed 35 MW, Steel Melting Shop 1,00,000 TPA to 2.25,000 TPA, Rolling mill 2,15,000 TPA, Seamless Tube mill 1,00,000 TPA and Coal washery 6,00,000 TPA. The project is estimated to cost Rs.8000 million

Icore group plans 1.8 mtpa steel plant in Orissa

Icore Group, a Kolkatta based company is planning to set up an integrated steel cum cement complex in Somnathpur in Balasore district of Orissa. The steel plant will have a capacity of 1.8 mtpa is likely to commence operations from March 2011. Initially, its steel plant will have a capacity of 0.36 and later scale upto 1.8 mtpa. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 10,000 million for 0.36 mtpa. The company has submitted detailed project report to Industrial Infrastructure Corp of Orissa Ltd (IDCOL) and is likely to be allotted 80 acres of land after signing up the MoU which is likely to happen by end of July 2010.

Orissa gets the maximum investment for steel sector

Orissa government has entered into an MoU with 49 players for setting up steel projects. Of this, 20 players have achieved financial closures. These include Bhushan Steel Ltd, Maithan Ispat Ltd, Eastern Steels and Power Ltd, Aarti Steels, Adhunik Metalliks, Visa Steel, Sree Metaliks, JSL (formerly Jindal Stainless), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), OCL Iron & Steel Ltd and SMC Power Generation Ltd to name a few. If all the 49 MoU’s go through it will add 83.66 million tonnes (mt) of steel capacity and will receive 2.3 lakh crore investment in the state. These steel companies are also adding 1062 MW of captive power generation capacity. It may be noted, many companies like Visa Steel, Sree Metaliks, Jai Balaji Jyoti Steels, Beekay Steels, SPS Steel & Power have started production partially which could add up to 7.74 mt.
