R R Energy Ltd to expand its mini steel plant in Jharsuguda Road in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs.. 931 million. The project involves setting up of 3x3.6 MVA ferro alloy plant, a 25 MW coal rejects thermal power plant and a 15 MW biomass based power plant. The capacity of the ferro alloy plant will be 30,000 tpa.
Tata Steels is planning to set up a 5.5 mtpa integrated steel plant in Lohandiguda block in Bastar district in Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 195000 million. The project also involves setting up a captive power plant of 625 MW based on coal and gas. The power generation units consists of 3x120 MW are gas based and 3x120 MW are based on coal and two back pressure turbines will generated 12.5 MW of power. The steel plant will produce 6 mtpa of hot metal, crude steel of 5.5 mtpa and saleable steel of 5.25 mtpa. Iron ore is to be sourced from Bailadila mines and conventional blast and basic oxygen furnace will be set up.
Vasundhra Steel & Power to set up integrated steel plant in Paraghat village in Masturi Tehsil in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 9500 million. The project involves setting up of a iron ore beneficiation plant of 6,20,000 tpa, pelletization plant (6,00,000 tpa), sponge iron plant (4x300 tpd), steel melting shop with CCM(4,20,000 tpa) and a re-rolling mill(4,00,000 tpa). The project also involves setting up of a captive power plant of 32 MW (WHRB) and a 50 MW (CFBC) plant.
