Hira Power and Steels to expand its ferro alloy unit at Urla in Raipur district in Chhattisgarh. The project involves expanding Ferro Alloy Plant [Unit-II, Si-Mn (9,000 TPA) / Fe-Mn (9,000 TPA)] with an investment of Rs. 148.4 million. Existing plant has a Ferro Alloy Plant (3 MVA & 9 MVA, 9,000 TPA) and proposed expansion involves installation of Ferro Alloy Plant (1x6 MVA, 9,000 TPA) for manufacturing Silico-Manganese (9,000 TPA) / Ferro-Manganese (9,000 TPA). Total manufacturing capacity will be 18,000 MTPA. The raw materials required for the ferro alloy process are manganese ore (1,97,100 TPA), Carbon paste (1,971 TPA) & Coke/Coal (45,990 TPA), Titanium (200 TPA) Molybdenum (200 TPA) and for the alumino thermic process are manganese ore (3,180 TPA), aluminium powder (750 TPA), lime powder (750 TPA), silico manganese chips (2,250 TPA), MS scrap etc.(300 TPA) and Calcium fluoride (90 TPA). The manganese ore will be sourced from mines at Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bellary and Orissa. Titanium and molybdenum will be imported. Carbon paste will be sourced from M/s Western Electro Carbon Limited and ACM Enterprises etc. Coke / coal will be sourced from SAIL Bhilai and Dhanbad.
Narmada Ispat (a Hira Group Company) to set up a steel plant in Hathkoj Industrial Area in Durg Tehsil in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 471 million. The project involves setting up of submerged arc furnace 4x6 MVA to produce pig iron, ferro manganese, silico manganese and medium carbon ferro manganese, ferro titanium, ferro molly through alumino thermic process. Alloy ores will be sourced from Bellary mines and Orissa and also from imports.

Om Krishna Bajrang Alloys to set up ferro alloy plant in Silpahri Industrial Area in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 47.1 million. The project involves setting up of (1 x 1.5 MVA, 1 x 3.6 MVA submerged arc furnace to produce ferro silicon and silico manganese.
