Indian Railways is to set up a rail cast steel wheel manufacturing unit in Bela village in Dariyapur block in Saran (Chapra) district of Bihar with an investment of Rs. 14123 million. The plant will have a capacity of 62500 tpa and will consume light metal scrap, HSD and LPG. The project has achieved statutory clearances.
Vindhya Steel to set up a steel plant at Gidha Industrial Growth Centre in Ara Tehsil in Bhojpur district of Bihar with an investment of Rs. 55 million. The project involves setting up of a cold briquette iron (DRI) plant with a capacity of 6000 tpa through Turner Kiln process.

Magadh Industries is planning to set up a 60,590 tpa capacity Re-Rolling Mill at Simli Malalpur in Pahari in Patna district of Bihar. Total land acquired is 2.81 acres. MS Bars (70%) and TMT Bars (30%) will be manufactured. MS Ingots/billets will be charged into a reheating furnace and rolled successively in roughing mill, intermediate mill and finishing mill. The hot rolled deformed bars will be allowed to pass through special water cooling pipe section for producing TMT bars. The project is estimated to cost Rs.300.0 million
