Sterlite Industries to expand copper smelter at Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs. 16500 million. The project involves expanding  Copper Smelter [Copper anode (1200 to 1800 TPD), Copper Cathodes (875 to 1800 TPD), Continuous Copper Rod (410 to 1310 TPD)] and Phosphoric Acid  (800 to 1400 TPD The expansion details of the new unit are as follows.

Global Lead Alloys to manufacture Lead Ingots from Waste Batteries

 

Global Lead Alloys to manufacture Lead Ingots from Waste Batteries in Ahamangalam Village, Burgur Taluk in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu with an investment of Rs. 4 million. The raw materials required for project are waste battery (30 TPD), soda ash (0.01 TPD), sodium nitrate(0.01 TPD), charcoal (0.5 TPD) and iron turnings (0.05 TPD). 

Deccan Ferro Alloys to expand its ferro alloys unit at Chintalapalam

 

Deccan Ferro Alloys to expand its ferro alloys unit at Chintalapalam in Kothavalasa Mandal in Vizianagarm district in Andhra Pradesh. Current capacity of the plant is 30 tpd of silico manganese which is to be increased to 130 tpd. The project also involves setting up of  two additional furnaces of 40 & 60 tpd capacities. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 265 million.
