Ahresty India to set up a aluminium die casting unit at Bawal in Rewari district of Haryana with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. The project involves expanding the capacity to 100000 tpa of aluminium die casting unit. The new unit will manufacture Cylinder head cover, oil pan, oil pump, transmission case, rocker cover, front cover, head cover, chain case and cylinder block and other casting products. Aluminium ingots (37.45 TPD) will be used as raw material. Metal cutting scrap, machining chips (10 kg/day) and Aluminium dross (1600 kg/day) will be generated as process waste.
Balco to expand its aluminium smelter plant at Korba in Chhattisgarh with an investment of Rs. 81,000 million. The project also involves setting up a captive power plant with 300 MW capacity and expansion of smelter from 3.5 to 9.0 LTPA. It will use GP -320 (II) Potline Technology from GAMI-China employing 320 KA high amperage Pre Baked Anode Pot Technology for the aluminium smelter. The power plant will use pulverized fuel with sub-critical boilers.
JSW Aluminium is setting up a 1.4 mtpa greenfield refinery at Srungavarapukota in Vizianagarm in Andhra Pradesh. The project also involves setting up a co-generation plant of 90 MW capacity at Chidipalem, Srungavarapukota, Vizianagaram. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 39790 million. The plant will use Bauxite (42,00,000 TPA), Caustic Soda (2,24,600 TPA), Lime (56,000 TPA), Coal (10,50,000 TPA), Flocculent (4,200 TPA). It will use Bayer process to manufacture alumina while it has no plans to set up smelter at the site.
