Vakkal Impex Pvt Ltd is planning to expand its aluminium alloy ingot production unit in Devarapally in Hindpur Mandal in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The project involves expanding its capacity from 9900 tpa to 24750 tpa. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 161 million. Aluminium alloy ingots and aluminium extrusions are manufactured by oil fired reverberatory furnace for melting of the aluminium scrap and silicon powder, fluxes & other alloying material and casting in CI moulds. Met Trade India Ltd to set up non ferrous metallurgical plant at Bhimasar in Anjar Taluk in Kutch district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 1200 million. The project involves setting up of manufacturing facilities to manufacture aluminium products (1,80,000 MTPA), Lead products (1,00,000 MTPA) and Zinc products (30,000 MTPA) . Raw materials required for the plant will be aluminium scrap and lead scrap.
Vedanta Aluminium Ltd is planning to set up a aluminium smelter unit of 6.5 lakh tpa in Bidanbagh in Mauja Bhagra in Burdwan district of West Bengal. State of the art 320/350 GP (II) technology of GAMI-China will be installed for electrolytic reduction of alumina using center worked pre-baked cell technology at low voltage and high amperage. The project also involves setting up of a captive power plant of 1500 MW based on coal. Imported coal from Indonesia will be used and will sourced through its upcoming captive berth in Vizag. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 110,000 million.
