China Steel Corp plans 0.2 mtpa electric steel plant in Dahej

China Steel Corp, is planning to set up a 0.2 million tpa of electric steel plant in Dahej GIDC in Gujarat. The company had signed an MoU with the state government of Gujarat. It will invest Rs.. 10,000 million towards the first phase. The company had acquired 50 acres of land and work on the project is likely to start by June 2012 and to be completed by 2014.

 

Arcelor Mittal to set up steel plant at Bellary in Karnataka

Arcelor Mittal has decided on Kudithini and Torangal in Bellary district in Karnataka to set up an integrated steel plant. The company will invest around Rs.300,000 million and has requested 4000 acres to set up the project. Karnataka government is identifying land near the Bellary power plant and due notification is in progress.

Arcelor Mittal has firmed up its plans to locate its proposed integrated steel plant in Karnataka. The project involves setting up a 6 million tpa integrated steel plant with an investment of Rs.300000 million . Karnataka Government has reportedly identified three sites for the project. Among the locations suggested to the company include the iron-ore belt of Bellary-Koppal in North Karnataka. However, the other two locations have not been revealed by the state government. An MoU in this regard is expected to be signed by May 2010. The investment details are still being worked out and the company has also proposed setting up a 750 MW power plant in the vicinity of the steel plant. The company has sought 4,000 acre for setting up the steel plant and the power plant. The proposal is expected to be taken to the state government's high-powered committee. Pioneer Alloy Castings to invest Rs.4000 million in Renigunta

Pioneer Alloy Castings has two foundries one at Gummidipoondi and another one at Renigunta with a cumulative casting capacity of 40,000 tonnes. The company is currently planning to invest Rs.4000 million to augment machining capacity. The company also has 30 acres of land at Renigunta, 15 acres in Tada and 6 acres in Gummidipoondi supplies to OEMs like Mahindra & Mahindra, Eicher and TAFE tractors and has orders worth Rs.4000 million . Sree Metalliks to invest Rs.20000 million

Sree Metaliks has two integrated steel complex at Barbil and Angul in Orissa with a capacity of 0.28 mtpa which was set up at an investment of Rs.3070 million. The company is planning to invest Rs.20000 million to set up a 540 MW (2 x 270 MW) captive power unit near upcoming Dhamra Port. The project will use imported and indigenous coal which may be procured from Mozambique. Besides this, the company is also planning to set up 0.7 mtpa integrated steel plant (1.2 mtpa pelletization plant, 1mtpa beneficiation plant and a 50 MW captive power unit) at Anra in Keonjhar district in the state with an investment of Rs. 9670 million.
